Rio Bec Style - 600 - 800 C.E.
or the Late Classic period

Shows elevated towers at the ends (and sometime in the middle) of long constructions with chambers in groups of two. The towers have false stairways that are too shallow to climb and at the tops they typically show false temples that can not actually be entered. The towers are rounded and the stones are almost perfect in their cut and fit. Large masks mark the entrance to key buildings. This style is found in the region of Becan at the base and center of the Yucatan. An example of this style can be seen in Xpuhil.
